Fountains was originally established as a forestry company in 1957 trading as Fountain Forestry. The company grew substantially during the 1970 and 80s with further operations in England, Wales and Scotland. During the 90s, operations diversified substantially outside of forestry. Specialist vegetation management contracts for the Utilities and Transport industries began followed by substantial contracts within the grounds maintenance secto, resulting in a current turnover of £20M.
Due to a recent contract award of a large utility contract in the north London area and ongoing growth in the rest of the SE the company has a substantial requirement for junior management staff. There are now 10 Field Officers (aborists) available in the Hertfordshire Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London South East regions.
The Field Officer role is principally that of a contract supervisor:
(i) ensuring operations are delivered within agreed budget or planned outputs/productivity, and reporting delivery;
(ii) first line management and supervision of field staff operatives, ensuring safe and efficient contract delivery to specification, quality, and cost;
(iii) delivery of operations to internal and customer standards whilst delighting the customer;
(iv) maintaining excellent customer relationships with a constructive and proactive communication style;
(v) implementing close out actions from internal and external audits; and,
